The artistic work of Cynthia Gerothanasiou, is defined between relationship of the person with the inner and the outer world
it looks like a lively mosaic that modulate the next form, the next brushstroke, the next choice, to various aesthetic approaches and reviews, feature piece of work, is a reference to Mona Lisa...
Love, loss, beauty, feminists, fragility and cruelty, the social status, the secret processes, are fields that the artist explores, through in a variety of expressive means. colour, pencil, papers, fabric, metal, light, transparency, threats. From the surface, to the volume and to space.
Through installations, by continues research of the links with the things all around a part of invisible net is revealed.
Place and time, memories and wounds, tradition and myths, creates such aesthetic environments that emotions are evoked.
For the artist, the costume and the stage design are also another way of researching the psychological field, that the person develops in its reality or in an imaginary inner world.
She works in private, but she also chooses to participate in group works, to achieve osmosis and a fertile exchange of ideas.
She studied painting and multi media video art and image digital processing, in the School of Fine Arts of Aristotle University in Thessaloniki. She is member of: the art group “Vlaves”, the experiment group of research of visual arts A4M, the drama group Machina, the Choir of the school of music studies of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece. She also participated in the EUROPIAN POLYTHEATRE(GRUDVICH) Rome-Thessaloniki 2012-2014,to EUROPIAN FORUM THEATRE PROJECTS -Thessaloniki (2009)-Drama theater Malta (2008)- Drama Center Vienna (2008)to the performance "Ich bin das ich bin" during the alternative theater festival of 2006 at the ENTROPIA theater in Athens.
She works in high school as an art teacher and also as a scenery and costume designer in many theatrical shows, including productions for the National Theater of Greece and the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron). She is also involved in garment creative design
